More Americans Own VCRs Than Desktop Computers

One of the big draws at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas is ultra-hi-definition TVs.

Cutting-edge technology 4K TVs are getting lots of gawkers at the CES, but the majority of Americans still own VCRs.

In fact, a Gallup poll done for CES shows more Americans own video cassette recorders than own desktop computers or tablets. The numbers are 58% for VCRs, 57% for desktops and 38% for tablets.

Since 2005, the rate of VCR ownership has dropped drastically, with only flip phones being dropped faster... but many older Americans still haven't dumped their old-fashioned gadgets.
