Let's Cause a Riot! (In Sweden)

Riots are breaking out in Sweden just days after President Trump's comments about the country's policies on immigration.

During the 2015 refugee crisis, Sweden took in the most migrants per capita.

The riots are happening in the mostly immigrant populated northern suburbs of Stockholm.

Over a period of four hours the crowd vandalized several stores, threw rocks at police and burned half a dozen cars. A newspaper photographer was beaten and robbed by a group of men .

Police spokesman Lars Bystrom says officers fired shots at a rioter but missed. He says civilians were also hurt in the fights and their officers are doing what they can to contain the crowds.

“This kind of situation doesn’t happen that often, but it is always regrettable when they happen.”

Crime stats from late 2015-early 2016 say refugees were only responsible for one percent of all criminal incidents. Another study conducted in early 2016 says 46 percent of Swedish citizens believe that:

“Refugees in our country are more to blame for crime than other groups.”
