Texas High School Teacher Arrested for Sexual Affair with a Student

Yet another Texas high school teacher has been arrested for engaging in sexual conduct with a student at the school, but this time she seems happy to be charged with a second-degree felony.

27-year-old Sarah Maden Fowlkes turned herself in to the police in Lockhart, Texas where authorities charged her with having an improper relationship with a student at Lockhart High School. The reasoning behind her newfound notoriety is that she was photographed smiling in her mug shot.

While being charged with the second-degree felony, Lockhart school district announced her suspension from her teaching position at the high school she was employed at since late 2014.

Police learned about the relationship when a school official notified them on March 10 that a teacher might be having an inappropriate relationship with a minor enrolled at the high school.

Fowlkes taught anatomy, environmental systems and physiology at the high school. Prior to her position at the high school she taught at Plum Creek Elementary where she taught third and fifth graders social studies and science.

On her now ironic school profile, she states, “I have very high expectations of myself as a teacher as well as my students and I hope that this will be a formula for achievement…I want this to be an enjoyable year for all of my students.”

But don’t worry about Fowlkes, according to her social media account spent her last free night celebrating her birthday with her husband.
