The FAA has decided that no disciplinary action will be taken against Harrison Ford for an incident involving his plane and an idling American Airlines 737 it was reported Tuesday.
Ford, best known for his roles as Indiana Jones and Han Solo, was attempting to land his single-engine plane at John Wayne Airport on February 13th when he instead landed on a taxiway. The actor flew within over the jetliner with 110 people on board. He immediately notified air traffic control to self-report his mistake, calling himself a "schmuck" for landing in the wrong area.
This is the second incident in as many years after Ford was injured in a crash involving his vintage World War II-era plane on a golf course in Venice. Ford is a well-known collector of vintage aircraft, and has held a pilot's license for more than 20 years.
The FAA could have suspended Ford's pilot license, been fined, or been required to go through remedial training with an FAA pilot.
