Five medical professionals in Columbia have been fired after video surfaced of them mocking a naked, unconscious patient waiting for surgery.
The video, believed to have been posted by an operating room attendant shows five workers laughing, dancing and mocking an unconscious patient on a surgery table while he was awaiting surgery. The patient, who is seen lying face down on the operating table, is completely unaware of the doctors shimmying and dancing around him in scrubs.
After the video went viral, the clinic apologized for the behavior seen in the video and said they had fired the five workers who were seen breaking 'all health protocols.'
'The respect for dignity of every patient is the most important thing in our clinic, therefore we strongly regret the inappropriate behavior of those who are working as professionals in the health sector, seen in the video recorded in one of our surgery rooms.'
'This is the first time in seven years of good service that we are living a situation like this and we have taken some measures in order not to repeat these horrific acts.'
People quickly condemned the video online, saying this is a great reason why operating rooms should have cameras installed in them while surgery is taking place.
