Tourist in Uganda loses leg to crocodile

A tourist swimming in Uganda's Lake Victoria was enjoying himself until a hungry crocodile chomped one of his legs clean off.

The lake is filled with crocs from the Nile, which are incredibly powerful and dangerous. Ugandan authorities estimate that Nile crocodiles kill hundreds of human victims every year.

The poor man managed to survive the attack and got help from locals and members of the Uganda Peoples' Defense Forces.

If you travel to Uganda, or anywhere where crocodiles live, just stay out of the water. Maybe stick to man-made lakes and reservoirs. Or just the hotel pool.

Better yet, just stay away from all forms of water. You never know when and where a crocodile will attack!
