Search for Missing Boy Focused on Father’s Family

Detectives said Monday they believed a 5-year-old boy who vanished during a shared custody visit with his father late last week has been hidden somewhere in Southern California.

“We believe that he’s being concealed somewhere by somebody,” said L.A. County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Capt. Chris Bergman.

Aramazd Andressian, Jr. disappeared between Thursday and Saturday while he was with his father, who has since been arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and child abduction.

Bail for Aramazd Andressian was raised to $10-million because of the circumstances of the disappearance, police said.

The father has made inconsistent statements and has been uncooperative, police said.

The boy was last seen wearing a teal t-shirt and plaid shorts.

He’s four-foot-one, weighs about 55 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

The father was driving a silver 2004 BMW sedan, California license plate 5FIL646.

The car was spotted in Orange County Friday morning, about a day before the father was arrested at a park in South Pasadena.

Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 or the South Pasadena Police Department at (626) 403-7297.
