President Trump is set to speak at the National Rifle Association's annual convention, the first time a sitting president has done so since 1983.
NRA spokesman Jason Brown says the group is looking to hear a supportive message from Trump.
"Protecting gun rights, expanding gun rights and getting rid of legislation and gun rights restrictions in this country to make the Second Amendment more powerful than it ever has been before."
During the second debate for president, Trump promised to appoint Supreme Court justices that will uphold the Second Amendment and what it stands for.
His later appointment of Judge Neil Gorsuch was a confirmation of that promise.
The NRA was a major supporter for Trump's campaign last year giving him their endorsement and money.
They spent more than three times the amount of money to help Trump in 2016 than they did to back up Mitt Romney during his 2012 presidential run.
