Gas tax could fuel CA republicans in 2018

California's roads are a mess, but the gas and car tax was not the answer to our problems. A poll from UC Berkeley's Institute of Governmental Studies says that 58% of voters surveyed oppose the tax.

The $5.2 billion tax means the base excise tax goes up by 12 cents a gallon in November, and diesel fuel taxes will increase by 20 cents a gallon.

Then there's the new annual fee the DMV will charge to help fund transportation projects (so they say), which is based on a vehicle's value ranging from $25 to $175.

This tax screws everyone, and working to stop it is a cause we can all get behind. We need to recall Sen. Josh Newman so we can end the supermajority in Sacramento. It can't be this easy for them to pass taxes!

Longtime Republican consultant says the topic is ripe for the taking in 2018:

"It’s the price tag that’s in your face every day It’s not hard to explain.”

It's time for the pendulum to swing the other way in California!

Tomorrow we'll be out in Orange County again collecting signatures to recall Josh Newman. If you live in the 29th Senate District, we need your signature!
