High Surf Warning Issued for Tuesday Through Wednesday Evening

Large surf is being forecast for much of Southern California's coast as authorities warn beachgoers about dangerous waves and rip currents.

The big waves are all thanks to former Hurricane Eugene, which is now a tropical storm currently off the coast of Baja California.

The National Weather Service says waves on Tuesday could top 8 feet.

A high surf advisory has been issued by forecasters through late Wednesday night. Swimmers and surfers are urged to stay near lifeguards and never turn their back on the ocean.

Temperatures are a bit cooler than they have been across the Southland with much of greater Los Angeles seeing temps in the 80s and 90s.
