L.A. County releases people sentenced to 180 days or less on the same day

Writer Bill Pearl over at LBReport.com did a little digging and got the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to admit that under its current jail criteria, people sentenced up to 180 days or less get released on the same day.

If a person is arrested for a misdemeanor in L.A. County, is charged by a prosecutor, is convicted (or pleads guilty), and is sentenced with the maximum of 180 days in jail, he or she will get out of jail on the same day.
