Nashville Mayor Admits To an Affair

On Wednesday, Megan Barry, first term mayor of Nashville, Tennessee admitted to having an affair with her former head of security.

The affair with Sgt. Robert Forrest began a few months after Barry entered office. Between the two, they racked up $33,000 in travel expenses.

Barry and Forrest are claiming never to have violated any policies during their affair. It's not sure when the affair ended, but Barry says she is deeply apologetic.

"I know that God will forgive me, but that Nashville doesn't have to," said Mayor Barry.

"This is a very bad day. And I'm going to have several more bad days. But this is not my worst day."

Barry stood alone on Wednesday when giving her press conference. This past July, she lost her only son to a drug overdose. Barry says that her husband is forgiving and committed to maintaining their family.
