DMV Removes Driving Suspensions For Failure To Pay Fines

California drivers who had their driving privilege suspended solely for failing to pay fines can now legally drive. Governor Brown signed the measure into law last June.

Some customers receiving the notification might still have a suspended license for other reasons and this action won't resolve those suspensions.  About 460,000 suspensions were removed for drivers failing to pay their fines. A spokesman said that fines will still be collected.
