San Francisco Burger King Using Classical Music To Deter Loitering

A San Francisco fast food restaurant is getting creative in its methods to deter people from loitering and panhandling around the building.  The owner of the Burger King at the intersection of Hyde and Grove streets asked his landlord for permission to play classical music in an effort to eliminate the problem.  "KRON 4" says it isn't the first business to use such a tactic.

The 7-Eleven on Drumm Street also plays classical music through its outdoor speakers.  Not everyone is pleased with the method.  Officials with the Coalition on Homelessness says it is noise pollution and that the city needs better solutions for battling panhandling.
