Protest Held Following High School Shooting

Residents and gun reform advocates gathered outside Congressman Steve Knight's Palmdale office, one day after a 14-year-old boy brought a rifle to Highland High School and shot a fellow classmate.  Organizers behind Saturday's protest say the Republican Representative received an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association and received thousands of dollars in campaign donations from the NRA.

The representative said in a statement that he introduced a bill in Congress calling for increased funding for more training and school safety measures.  Knight also said Friday's shooting "continues to underline the urgency we are facing in America to make our schools safer."

No arrests were made during the protest.
