Ohio Man Ends Golf Career With First Hole-In-One

Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks? A 93-year-old man in Ohio ended his golf career last month with his very first hole-in-one.

Ben Bender told The Zanesville Times Recorder that during his last round at the Green Valley Golf Course, "the Lord knew."

Bender started playing golf when he was 28, but says that in all of his years playing the game, he had never been able to hit a hole-in-one.

Until his very last round.

He was at the third hole of the course when he nailed the 152-yard shot with a 5-wood.

"I was lucky to play golf this long, but I never expected (a hole-in-one)," he said. "It was the last time I was able to play, and I think God had a hand in this. I loved the game and hate to give it up, but I can't play forever."

Bender said that a few holes after his incredible hole-in-one, his hip began giving him trouble, forcing him to head to the clubhouse and officially end his golf career on that last high note.
