Convicted Felon Kept 500 Firearms in Palmdale Home

The Palmdale station of the Los Angeles Police Department received a tip that a local convicted felon was keeping a large arsenal of firearms and boy was that right.

Officers served a search warrant at the Agua Dulce residence on Caprock Road on June 14 and confiscated 432 firearms. Manuel Fernandez, 60, was taken into custody.

Detectives were then lead to the home of Fernandez's female friend on Sweetwater Drive where they seized 30 more illegal firearms, the owner of that residence has not returned home.

On June 15, officers did a follow-up search and seized 91 more firearms hidden in Fernandez's home. Computers, cellphones, and hard drives connected to the suspect's alleged illicit purchase of weapons were also confiscated.

Fernandez was booked at the Palmdale sheriff’s station on suspicion of possession of firearms and ammunition as a felon and possession of an assault rifle and large capacity magazines but was bonded out on June 15.
