"Bro, You Alright?" Truckers Save Man's Life...With Beer

You may never say "Bro, you alright?" the same way again...

Amazing story coming out of St. Paul Minnesota where two beer truck drivers saved the life of a man who they found holding perilously onto a freeway overpass fence.

The truckers, Jason Gaebel and Kwame Anderson were on a delivery when they came to a freeway overpass.  As they were crossing the bridge, they noticed a man perched on the outside of the fence – one step away from a freefall to the speeding cars below.

One of the two drivers was filming as they encountered the potential jumper and uploaded it to Facebook.  A photo from the video has been making its way around online, which shows the unexpected moment when they first spotted the suicidal guy.

"Bro, you alright?" asked Gaebel.

After a quick back and forth, the drivers were able to see that the man was serious about killing himself, and their mission quickly turned to rescue.

As neither Gaebel or Anderson have official suicide prevention negotiating experience, they turned to what knowledge they did have - Hollywood films which depicted such negotiations.

Unfortunately, words alone didn't suffice.  Things turned desperate, until one of them remembered that they had a 12-pack of Coors Light in the truck and called out to the man:

"If you come down from there, do you want to get a drink with me and talk about what's going on?  I have a pack of Coors Light for you. Follow me."

- Jason Gaebel

The ruse was a success, and in the end, it was beer that saved this man's life.  Straight up.
