In-N-Out Burger Donates to GOP, Boycott Ensues

In-N-Out Burger, founded in Baldwin Park in 1948, is home to some of the best burgers in California and some of the longest drive -thru lines. But that love may not last forever because people are upset about the chain's latest money donation.

The California Democratic Party chairman announced he is calling for a boycott of In-N-Out Burger after it was recently revealed the burger chain donated $25,000 to the California Republican Party. Soon after his tweet, the hashtag #BoycottInNOut started trending across twitter.

However, it is not the first time In-N-Out contributed to the Republican party. In 2016 and 2017, the company donated $30,000 per year to the California GOP for general party expenses.

But it seems the corporation's main focus is not always the GOP. In-N-Out also gave $50,000 this year to Californians for Jobs and a Strong Economy, which is a political action committee that supports moderate democrats and was founded by David Townsend, who identifies as a centrist Democrat.
