LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Light rain is expected in Los Angeles County this morning before a low-pressure system moves out of the region, but another storm is set to sweep into the area Saturday night and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Light showers are possible this morning, along with lower elevation snow, but the rest of the day will be dry, the NWS said. Another chance of rain is possible Saturday night through Sunday, but that storm is only expected to bring up to a quarter-inch of rain.
In downtown Los Angeles, 2.19 inches of rain has fallen this month, followed closely by 2.08 inches of rain at LAX. At Long Beach Airport, 1.87 inches of rain has fallen in March and 1.55 inches of rain was reported at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank.
Snow levels are near 4000 feet today and the Grapevine will see some snow, prompting a winter weather advisory until noon for snow showers with up to two inches of snow possible and slick roads in the mountains.
Gusty winds are expected in the Antelope Valley, but will likely not be strong enough for the weather service to issue an advisory.
The forecast calls for a slight chance of added showers in Los Angeles County on Monday and Tuesday.
