The average price is 4.4 cents less than one week ago, but 5.1 cents more than one month ago and 33.5 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price dropped eight-tenths of a cent to $4.045. It is 5.2 cents less than one week ago, but 4.8 cents more than one month ago and 34.1 cents higher than one year ago.

“More local refineries are coming back online and this has pushed down wholesale Los Angeles gasoline prices,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
