Southland Gas Prices Drop for 16th Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 16th consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $4.01, its lowest amount since April 11.

The average price has decreased 11 cents over the past 16 days, including six-tenths of a cent on both Tuesday and Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.7 cents less than one week ago and 6.9 cents lower than one month ago but 25.2 cents higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price also dropped for the 16th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.98, its lowest amount since April 11. It has dropped 8.7 cents over the past 16 days, including eight-tenths of a cent on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 3.8 cents less than one week ago and 7 cents lower than one month ago but 25.3 cents higher than one year ago.
