SANTA ANA (CNS) - A 19-year-old man was charged today with bursting into a Yorba Linda home and attacking two residents before wrestling with three Orange County sheriff's deputies as they arrested him.

Kristopher Dehaven Carrington was charged with single counts each of mayhem, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, resisting arrest and vandalism, all felonies.

He also was charged with a misdemeanor count of unlawful entry of a residential dwelling and faces sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury on the victims.

Carrington pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in the Santa Ana jail courtroom and was ordered to return to court Sept. 16 for a pretrial hearing in the North Justice Center in Fullerton.

About 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Carrington allegedly entered the home, not knowing the residents, and got into a physical fight with two residents inside, according to Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the sheriff's department. When deputies arrived he continued to be combative and was charged with resisting three deputies.
