KFC to Test Limited Edition Fried Chicken and Donut Sandwich

As the chicken sandwich hype is starting to die down, KFC is swooping in with a sweet twist.

The chicken giant has announced that it will test a limited run of a doughnut and chicken meal combos and a Fried Chicken & Donut sandwich only in Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia, and Pittsburgh.

“Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts brings two all American classics together, with a delicious pairing of KFC’s world-famous fried chicken, coupled with a fresh glazed donut,” the chain said in a press release. “Served hot and fresh, no matter the time of day, the donuts create a tasty flavor experience in every bite.”

Customers in those select locations will be able to get either a Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donut Basket meal, with chicken on the bone and chicken tenders and one doughnut for $5.49, or a meal with two doughnuts for $7.49.

The sandwich is just a chicken fillet placed between two glazed doughnuts and will sell for $5.99.

If all goes well, KFC says they may bring the new additions to all locations.
