Police Release ID of Body Found in U-Haul Truck in Fullerton

U-Haul Co. Discusses Debt Restructuring

ANAHEIM (CNS) - A body found wrapped in plastic and cardboard in an abandoned moving truck in Fullerton was identified today as that of a 29-year- old Anaheim woman who disappeared in November.

The cause of Ashley Manning's death is pending the results of toxicology results, which could take several weeks to complete, authorities said. An autopsy was performed Friday.

Manning's family reported her missing in November. According a Facebook post by her sister seeking help finding her, Manning flew from Dallas to Los Angeles International Airport Nov. 13, but was never seen again.

``We have confirmation that she made it to LAX and are working with police to pull video footage to see what care she got into (and) run license plates,'' Taylor Manning wrote in her Facebook post.

Manning had most recently been staying in the Anaheim area with friends, Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer said.

The U-Haul truck containing her body was rented in Anaheim, so police in that city took over the investigation after the body was found in Fullerton on Wednesday, Carringer said.

Abandoned or delinquent trucks are normally taken to the company's Fullerton location at Orangethorpe Avenue and State College Boulevard so employees can inventory the belongings, Carringer said.

The employees searching the truck came across the body and called Fullerton police about 1 p.m. Wednesday, the sergeant said.

Investigators have deemed it a suspicious death at this point, Carringer said.

``Whether or not it is a homicide is still to be determined,'' he said.
