Average Southland Gas Prices Drop For Eighth Time in 10 Days

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County today dropped for the eighth time in 10 days, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.58.

The average price has decreased 1.9 cents over the past 10 days, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped six consecutive days, was unchanged on Monday, dropped six-tenths of a cent on Tuesday to its lowest amount since Aug. 29, then rose three-tenths of a cent on Wednesday.

The average price is 1 cent less than one week ago and 2.5 cents lower than one month ago but 26.7 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price also dropped for the eighth time in 10 days, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.527. It has dropped 1.9 cents over the past 10 days, decreasing for six consecutive days, rising one-tenth of a cent on Monday, dropping three-tenths of a cent on Tuesday and rising two- tenths of a cent on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 1 cent less than one week ago and one month ago but 23.2 cents higher than a year ago.
