#TastyTuesday: Good News! Wine Prices Are Set To Drop!

You read that title correctly!

Wine prices are set to drop!

(I know you don't really care why, because who is going to argue with lower wine prices, but my boss says I need to write longer blog posts, so I'm going to break it down a bit.)

It really just comes down three basic factors.

The value of the North Coast grape crop dropped by 15% from 2018 to 2019, putting it at $1.7 billion.

Farmworkers also only picked 490,922 tons of grapes. (I know that sounds like whole lot, but it's actually 17% less than the year beofore.)

Finally, wineries simply didn't crush as many grapes for wine.

Put those all together, and you get lower wine prices!

(Now, if you want to listen to somebody that actually understands all of this, you might want to listen to @ForkReporter explain it.)
