LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose three-tenths of a cent today for the second consecutive day after dropping 14 of the previous 16 days to its lowest amount since March 25.
The average price of $3.569 is 1 cent less than one week ago and 3.3 cents lower than one month ago but 23.7 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 4.6 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price rose a half-cent to $3.514, the second consecutive increase after dropping 13 of the previous 16 days to its lowest amount since March 24. It is seven-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and 3.4 cents lower than one month ago but 21.6 cents higher than a year ago. It has decreased 4.1 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price rose one-tenth of a cent on Thursday.
“Southern California gasoline average prices continue to be the most expensive in the country, and recent declines in oil prices worldwide have not yet made much of an impact locally,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
