California Releases Guidelines To Be Met In Order To Lift Coronavirus Order

White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow says guidelines for restarting parts of the U.S. economy will be unveiled soon, with "very important announcements" from President Trump coming in the next few days. Kudlow says the goal was to get people back to work "as quickly as possible", but that any decision would be "driven by the data from our health specialists".

More than 16 million Americans have filed for unemployment in the last month as many states have closed all nonessential businesses or issued stay-at-home orders.

Here in California, Governor Gavin Newsom announced his six goals that the state must meet in order to lift the coronavirus orders and restrictions.

They include: The ability to monitor and track potential COVID-19 cases, preventing infection of those that are considered high-risk, making hospital preparations in order to handle any surges, therapeutics to meet demand, ensuring schools and businesses can support social distancing, and guidelines for when residents should be staying home.

“I want you to know it’s not, it will not be, a permanent state,” Newsom said. “We recognize the consequences of the stay-at-home orders have a profound impact on the economy, your personal household budget, your personal prospects around your future.”
