Antibody researching and testing has officially begun in California...
The first results came in from a test of 3,300 people in Santa Clara County. Two California research teams found that about 2.5 to 4.2 percent of those tested in Santa Clara County were positive for antibodies, meaning that at one point they did have the coronavirus.
According to researchers, this percentage suggests that the infection rate in California could be much higher than the official predictions from the state... And it could even change the previously predicted numbers across the country.
“Our findings suggest that there is somewhere between 50- and 80-fold more infections in our county than what’s known by the number of cases than are reported by our department of public health," Dr. Eran Bendavid, the associate professor of medicine at Stanford University who led the study said.

Now, public health experts are requesting for antibody testing to be done across the nation.
Dr. Bendavid claims that until the testing can give us better answers on behalf of the country as a whole, the most important thing people can do is to "keep following public health guidelines."
“We have good confidence that we’re getting reliable information on the population. And that can be done because we know what proportion of the people who are positive we’re missing using this test,” Bendavid added.
