INGLEWOOD (CNS) - Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood announced today that it received 25,000 N95 masks from the firm Wilson Meany, which is developing the Inglewood Basketball and Entertainment Center.
The masks will be used by doctors, nurses and other staff at the hospital as they treat COVID-19 patients.
The hospital has tested and treated a number of patients with the coronavirus, both through its emergency department and its inpatient units, according to Dr. Paryus Patel, its chief medical officer.
“(Protective personal equipment) is in short supply here and at every other acute-care facility across the nation, and the proper use of PPE can reduce the risk of exposure,” Patel said. “We are incredibly grateful to the team at Wilson Meany and the Inglewood Basketball and Entertainment Center, who have been such a strong force within the community and a great partner of the hospital.”
Gerard McCallum of Wilson Meany said the company is “ proud that we are able to play a small part in ensuring health care workers have the personal protective equipment they need to stay safe while caring for patients.”
