The Justice Department has announced it will drop its case against former White House national security advisor Michael Flynn, despite Flynn having entered a guilty plea.
Flynn was charged with lying to FBI investigators about his contact with Russia and other foreign governments and was subsequently fired from the White House after only a few weeks on the job.
He also later served as a witness in the Mueller investigation and it seems that throughout it all, President Trump stood in his corner defending him.
Many assumed a presidential pardon would be a strong possibility before the DOJ dropped the case.
