LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose a half-cent today to $2.958, one day after a 14-day streak of increases totaling 7.9 cents ended when the price dropped one-tenth of a cent.
The average price is 2.7 cents more than a week ago and 13 cents higher than a month ago but 97.1 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has decreased 65.7 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price rose for the 27th time in 29 days, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $2.926. It has risen 15.6 cents over the past 29 days. It rose for 20 consecutive days, was unchanged May 26, rose each of the next five days, was unchanged Monday and resumed rising the next day.
The Orange County average price is 2.8 cents more than one week ago and 15 cents higher than one month ago but 97.4 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped 61.9 cents since the start of the year.
