Tyra Banks to Host 'Dancing with the Stars'

BURBANK (CNS) - Supermodel Tyra Banks will be the host and an executive producer of “Dancing with the Stars,'' ABC announced tonight, one day after confirming Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews would not return as host and co-host.

According to ABC, Banks will collaborate with executive producer/showrunner Andrew Llinares to “bring her energy and inspiration to the creative refresh the team is planning while honoring the show America loves.''

“I've been a fan of `DWTS' since its beginning,'' Banks said. “The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances ... it's always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk.''

Banks hosted “America's Next Top Model'' on UPN and The CW from 2003-2015 and in 2018 on cable's VH1. She also hosted the daytime talk show “The Tyra Banks Show,'' which aired in syndication from 2005-09 and on The CW in the 2009-10 season.

When ABC confirmed Monday Bergeron and Andrews would not be returning to the series, ABC and BBC Studios, the series' producer, announced producers would “embark on a new creative direction.''
