Seal Beach Police Nab Two Suspects in 7-Eleven Robbery

SEAL BEACH (CNS) - Seal Beach police arrested two suspects, one 19 and the other a juvenile, for allegedly robbing a 7-Eleven, a police spokesman said today.

The robbery took place at about 9:35 p.m. Saturday at the convenience store located at 1200 Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Beach Police Sgt. Nick Nicholas said.

According to police, two customers walking toward the 7-Eleven spotted one of the suspects pointing a gun at the clerk and called police. The robbers then fled the store after more customers walked in, Nicholas said.

The suspects were then seen heading toward a nearby residential neighborhood as police arrived, Nicholas continued. Police then asked for help from the Los Alamitos and Cypress police departments.

Seal Beach police officers eventually found the pair hiding under bushes in front of a residence in the 400 block of Marble Cove Way, Nicholas said. A loaded .40-caliber Glock handgun was found near the suspects, he said.

One of the suspects was identified as 19-year-old Elijah Jimenez of Los Alamitos, and the other was a 15-year-old boy.

Jimenez was booked on charges that included robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and felony weapons charges, Nicholas said. The juvenile was booked in Orange County Juvenile Hall on robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery charges.

Anyone with information on the robbery was asked to call Seal Beach Police Detective Jeff Gibson at 562-799-4100, ext. 1109.
