Firefighter Who Died Battling El Dorado Fire Has Been Identified

The US Forest Service has identified the firefighter who died battling the El Dorado fire as Charles Morton, a squad boss for the Big Bear Hotshot Crew.

Morton died last week fighting the fire in the San Bernardino National Forest that was caused by a pyrotechnic device used at a gender-reveal party in Yucaipa.

Morton had worked with the Forest Service for 14 years and then joined crews at the San Bernardino National Forest in 2007.

Officials have not released more details on his death, but have released some ways for people to send cards and condolences to the Morton family if they so choose.
