Veterans to Hold Virtual Parade in San Fernando Valley

PACOIMA (CNS) - The 17th annual San Fernando Valley Veterans Day Parade will take place as scheduled on Nov. 11, but it will be a virtual affair.

On Nov. 11, all veterans who have signed up to participate will have their images streamed online, the San Fernando Valley Sun reported. Additionally, those veterans may travel to the Richie Valens Recreation Center at 10736 Laurel Canyon Blvd. in Pacoima from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and receive a commemorative parade face mask (instead of a parade T-shirt), commemorative coin, and Thanksgiving-related gift package.

Scheduled to participate in the "Drive-by Give-a-Way'' are Democratic Rep. Tony Cardenas, Democratic state Assemblywoman Luz Rivas. L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, and L.A council members Monica Rodriguez and Bob Blumenfield, or their staff representatives, according to the Sun.

Veterans and veterans groups wanting to participate have until the end of Friday to register online at www.sfvveteransdayparade.com, or by calling Danette Espinoza at 818-625-0616 if assistance is needed in filling out the paperwork. Only those who are registered will be recognized online and receive the gifts.
