One Killed, Another Injured in Fullerton Shooting

FULLERTON (CNS) - One person was killed and another injured in a shooting in Fullerton and the shooter was on the loose this morning.  

Police received reports at 8 p.m. Friday of a vehicle into a house in the 3500 block of West Valencia Drive, near Magnolia Avenue, and a shooting victim inside the vehicle, according to Fullerton Police Department Public Information Officer Cpl. Billy Phu.  

Responding officers found a man near the vehicle with gunshot wounds and a second wounded man inside the vehicle. The victim outside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene and the second victim was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive, Phu said.  

The crash caused damage to the outside of the house. Nobody inside the home was injured, Phu said.  

A preliminary investigation revealed a man was seen running from the scene eastbound on Valencia Avenue after the crash, Phu said, adding it was unclear if the shooting was gang related.  

A detailed description of the suspect or motive for the shooting were not provided.

Valencia Drive was closed between Magnolia Avenue and Gilbert Street while police investigated the shooting.
