18-Year-Old Man in Vehicle Killed in Gang-Related Shooting in West Adams

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - An 18-year-old man sitting in a vehicle in the West Adams neighborhood was killed in a gang-related drive-by shooting, authorities said this morning.

The shooting was reported about 9:45 p.m. Monday near the intersection of 28th Street and Somerset Drive, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A preliminary investigation determined suspects in a gray BMW drove up to the location and opened fire on the vehicle, striking the victim, who was seated in the passenger seat, the department said.

The victim, who was not immediately identified, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel, police said.

A detailed description of any suspect was not immediately available.
