Let Me Point Out Something About Puppies

Animal behavior researchers at the University of Arizona had some fun playing with puppies—for science!

They wanted figure out if dogs’ ability to respond to pointing by humans (something that even chimpanzees cannot manage) was a learned behavior, or comes built-in at birth.

Turns out that even young doggos could reliably respond to human pointing, suggesting that the ability to communicate with humans this way come pre-wired in dog brains.
