A woman that was looking for a new pet friend to adopt found something even more incredible.
Aisha Nieves had lost her dog Kovu two years ago when he managed to escape through a hole in the fence.
Kovu was picked up as a stray, and taken to a local humane society where he was provided medical treatment before being adopted.
During that time, Nieves had been searching tirelessly for her best friend, but got to the shelter too late.
Years later, the family who adopted Kovu were forced to give him back and he reappeared on the humane society's site just in time for Nieves search.
She was worried that after all this time he wouldn't remember her, but it didn't take long for him to wag his tail and lick her.
