Dog Killed in Granada Hills Fire

GRANADA HILLS (CNS)- A dog was killed in a patio fire at a house in Granada Hills tonight.

Firefighters responded at 9:49 p.m. to 17745 Ridgeway Road where a fire had spread to a two-story, 1,345 square-foot home, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

As the heat and smoke cleared, they found the dog lifeless and beyond veterinary help, Humphrey said.

The age, breed and gender of the dog was not immediately known.

The fire was extinguished in 21 minutes by 31 firefighters, .

No injuries to people were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation but it is not considered to be suspicious, Humphrey said.
