Little Change to Average LA County Gas Price

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent today to $4.401 one day after rising two-tenths of a cent.

The average price is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but 1.4 cents more than one month ago and $1.182 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has risen $1.169 since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price rose three-tenths of a cent to $4.357 one day after dropping three-tenths of a cent. It is four-tenths of a cent less than one week ago but one-tenth of a cent more than one month ago and $1.168 higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has risen $1.149 since the start of the year.

“Gas prices have been stuck in somewhat of a limbo and remain near 2021 highs,'' said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, which provides real-time gas price information from more than 150,000 stations.

The Los Angeles County average price is six-tenths of a cent less than the 2021 high of $4.407 set Aug. 31. The Orange County average price is 1.4 cents less than the 2021 high of $4.371 set Aug. 27.
