Attorneys for former President Trump have submitted new documents to the Supreme Court in hopes of keeping certain documents out of the hands of those who are investigating the January 6th Insurrection.

Attorneys of Trump are seeking to reverse previous rulings from a lower court. This is interesting as the attorneys have been trying their best to block these documents from the January 6th committee even after President Biden waived executive privilege over the documents.

In a ruling from a federal appeals court in Washington, it was stated that the January 6th committee had a “uniquely vital interest” in obtaining the documents.

According to Trump’s lawyers, former Presidents had “a clear right to protect their confidential records from premature dissemination”.

The House committee mentioned that these documents were extremely important to the investigation of the January 6th insurrection and provided crucial information.
