LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Two people are hospitalized today after being shot in the Park Mesa Heights neighborhood of South Los Angeles and police say the shooting was gang-related.

Officers responded at 11:40 p.m. Thursday to a call of shots fired at Brynhurst Avenue and West 60th Street, west of Crenshaw Boulevard, where they found a man and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds, said a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

Witnesses reported a car drove up to the man and woman and shot them before driving away, authorities said.

Both victims were taken to a hospital, where the woman was in critical condition and the man in serious but stable condition.

Police say there was no vehicle or suspect description.
