Deputies with the LA County Sheriff's Department pulled over a car in the evening of July 14th, 2022, in Palmdale. During the traffic stop deputies say there was a woman inside the car holding an infant without a car seat. Officials say the driver of the car was unlicensed and driving without lights. Body worn video shows a woman sitting on the pavement holding a baby. You can see and hear the exchange which culminated with deputies using force to take the infant and handcuff the mother.
Sheriff Luna called this a 'Notable Use of Force'. Sources in the department tell KFI News that at least one deputy was disciplined as a result of this encounter. It's not known why the video was released a year after the incident.
