DWP is still slow to turn on home solar energy systems

According to the LA Times, the DWP is having a hard time keeping up with homeowners who have installed solar panels in their homes.

After panels are installed, the DWP must come to the house and install a new meter and turn them on, but some customers are waiting months instead of weeks to get them up and running.

According to the LA Times, it takes the DWP at least 12 to 13 weeks to approve and inspect rooftop panels for homeowners — roughly five times what it was then taking in San Diego and Sacramento.
