In 2011, 14-year-old Bella Weems was thinking ahead to her 16th birthday and asked her parents if they would consider buying her a car.
They said 'no way.'
So she asked them how she could earn the money so she could buy one herself.
They made a few suggestions: additional chores, babysitting, or...starting a business.
After saving $350 from babysitting jobs, she decided to start her own jewelry business called Origami Owl.
She calls it a 'living locket', customers can customize a locket with charms that relate to their family, life, hobbies, etc.
In her first year, the business made $20 million.
Today, just 3 years after she started, that business is worth $250 million.
