This wood burning oven was be built onsite by Neapolitan craftsmen with traditional techniques that have been passed on from generation to generation and is the first of its kind in the Los Angeles area. Our food is complemented by a fresh, seasonally relevant cocktail program with a strong background in the classics and the utilization of lesser known Italian liqueurs. We also offer an eclectic list of boutique wines from both Italy and California.

Starting this summer, a new flea market dubbed Downtown Flea will take over four parking lots in Downtown's Historic Core and feature up to 400 vendors selling new and vintage goods. Organizers describe the event as a combination block party, flea market and food festival.
"The Flea will take "Etsy" type designers from the web and showcase them in one distinct location," said creator Phillip Dane. "As far as I know, this event is the first of its kind to have a social media community within its website for the vendors: every seller will have their own url [website link] on DTFlea.com - allowing venders to showcase their products, write blog posts, connect with other venders, and bring awareness to their business."
Dane has a long history in the flea market business, from when he started the Fairfax High Flea Market years ago, to his more recent but now defunct flea market at Dodger Stadium.

The Food and Drug Administration has blocked cucumber imports from a Mexican company after the vegetables sickened 73 people in 18 states, including 28 in California. The cukes have tested positive for Salmonella Saintpaul, the Associated Press reports. Twenty-seven people have been hospitalized, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The federal agency placed the restrictions against Daniel Cardenas Izabal and Miracle Greenhouse of Culiacán, Mexico. The United States won't accept any more imports unless the company can show proof that the cucumbers are nasty bacteria-free.
The CDC assures that "Currently, there is no evidence that contaminated cucumbers supplied by Daniel Cardenas Izabal and Miracle Greenhouse are still on the market." However, some people may not have gotten sick yet, due to the lag time between consumption and when symptoms appear. It also takes an average of two to three weeks from time of illness for the infection to be reported to authorities, the CDC says.

Eating chocolate may change the immune system in ways that aggravate acne, a small new study from the Netherlands suggests.
In the study, researchers collected blood from seven healthy people before and after they ate 1.7 ounces of chocolate, each day for four days. (The chocolate contained about 30 percent cocoa.)
The researchers then exposed the blood cells to bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes, which contribute to acne when they grow inside clogged pores and cause pores to become inflamed, and to Staphylococcus aureus, another skin bacteria that can aggravate acne.

Executives at Pizza Hut would have you believe the "360" in Xbox 360 stands for all 360 degrees -- of a circular pizza.
The eatery has partnered with Microsoft to launch an app that lets video game players place Pizza Hut orders via Xbox Live. The "Create Your Pizza App" is geared toward gamers who are glued to the couch and rarely put down their game controllers (not even to call the delivery guy).
For the particularly sweaty-palmed, orders can be entered using Kinect gestures or voice input.

When it comes time to quit a job, most people take the simple route of walking up to the boss and giving two weeks notice. Chris Holmes is not one of those people.
The London-area man decided to instead announce his resignation via homemade cake, complete with letter on top. In the letter, Holmes, who also apparently goes by “Mr. Cake,” explained that becoming a father made him realize how precious life is, and that he had decided to quit his job to focus on his “steadily growing” cake business.
