Kennedy started her diverse broadcasting career at age 19 as an intern and later part time DJ at KROQ radio in Los Angeles. She joined the Kevin and Bean morning show after hosting the overnight show and still has dreams of dead air.
Two days after her 20th birthday Kennedy moved to NYC to become an MTV VJ, a job she held for nearly six years. In addition to interviewing stars such as Tom Cruise, Nicolas Cage and every musician known to man, Kennedy also hosted “Alternative Nation”, a nightly alternative video music show.
She acted as a correspondent for MTV News at such events as the Grammy’s, Video Music Awards, Woodstock and NHL all-star games, and hosted a series of specials called “How-to With Kennedy.”
After MTV, Kennedy followed her love of sports and snowboarding to Nagano, Japan for the Olympic Winter Games. Following the games she landed in Seattle for several years with her husband, professional snowboarder Dave Lee, where she hosted a daily talk show, and where she also published a critically acclaimed book for young women called Hey Ladies! Tales And Tips For Curious Girls.
Kennedy moved to Los Angeles in 2002 to host the hit game show Friend or Foe for GSN. She also hosted the most talked and written about show in the history of the network, the political recall game show “Who Wants To Be Governor Of California: The Debating Game” starring gubernatorial hopefuls Gary Coleman and porn star Mary Carey.
In June 2005 Kennedy received her bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from UCLA where she attended on full scholarship as a Regents Scholar graduating Magna Cum Laude (she also worked part time as a panelist on VH1's Best Week Ever). Two weeks after graduation she gave birth to her first child with husband Dave, a baby girl named Pele Valentina.
2005 was an exciting year for Kennedy.
In October she was named host of Fox Reality Channel's flagship show Reality Remix, a daily talk show that raps up the day in reality with reviews, news and interviews. She also hosts Reality Remix Weekend for the channel which highlights the week in reality TV with a roundtable of experts sounding off on hot button reality issues, extended interviews and forecasts for the week ahead.
Her favorite part of the job is interviewing the diverse parade of reality participants from her favorite shows like Survivor, Project Runway and America's Next Top Model, as well as celebrities and athletes like Sugar Ray Leonard, Scott Baio and Ed Begley Jr. who share their stories in and out of the reality arena.
Kennedy can be seen regularly debating pop culture and political issues on Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends and MSNBC's Scarborough Country. She also appears as an entertainment and reality expert on VH1 and E! Entertainment Television.
